Essential Functions

  •  Able to work unsupervised.
  • Able to communicate well and follow verbal instructions
  • Physical demands extensive walking and standing
  • Prepares service areas for meal service by performing opening duties
  • Check tables in dining room to insure standard set-up
  • Prepares needed beverage service for meal period
  • Stocks and prepares all service areas before meal service
  • Checks and has knowledge of menu for meal service
  • Take food orders from residents in a professional manner
  • Serves beverages and all food items to the residents in dining room
  • Makes quality checks with residents in the dining room
  • Clears meal courses and clears all tableware and china
  • Resets tables to standard for next sitting
  • May deliver trays and late trays to residents, as needed
  • Prepare and deliver resident between meal nourishments, if needed
  • Inventories and par stock for each floor and restock as needed
  • Copy and cut server meal tickets as needed
  • Knowledge of menu and prepare menu boards
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned work area
  • Resets all tables for next meal
  • Performs all closing shift duties for the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Learn all the standards of American Table Service
  • Train and teach new employees in all areas of service
  • Check all key areas in the opening of the dining room
  • Participate in pre-meal service meetings
  • Maintain excellent service to the entire dining room
  • May need to assist in all areas of the food service operation
  • Check out services staff at end of shift to make sure all duties are complete
  • Responsible for close of the dining room to set standards
  • Maintain professional quality service to the residents at all times
  • Work with supervisors/managers to accomplish goals of department
