Beatitudes Campus was founded in 1965 as a place where older adults could live, learn, and grow through all the days of their lives. Our Founders dreamed of a "campus," borrowing the term from the educational community because of its sense of continual growth and vibrancy. Our Campus was one of the first to introduce the concept of continuing care and improve the quality of retirement living in North Central Phoenix.

This position performs a variety of duties within the various areas in the Food Service Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited too taking and delivering meal orders, completing assigned side work, assisting with caterings when needed and assisting co-worker to complete a common goal.

Skills/ Requirements

  • Current valid Food Handler card required
  • Prefer high school diploma or GED
  • Genuine desire to work with seniors
  • A heartfelt compassion for this line of work
  • An up-beat and engaging personality
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Maintains general sanitary and safety practices

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for creating appropriate table presentations, including room arrangements               
  • Responsible for maintenance and proper storage of all catering equipment, supplies, props, and decorations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under high stress situations required
  • Good organizational skills with attention for detail a must
  • Must have ability to create proper ambiance with limited tools
  • Check tables to insure standard set-up
  • Prepares needed beverage service for function
  • Stocks and prepares all service areas before function
  • Checks and has knowledge of menu for function
  • If function requires, take food orders from residents in a professional manner
  • Serves beverages and all food items to the residents
  • Makes quality checks with residents
  • Clears meal courses and clears all tableware and china
  • Prepare and deliver resident catering items, as needed
  • Knowledge of menu and preparation of menu items
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned work area
  • Resets all tables for next meal if function takes place in a dining room
  • Performs all closing duties for the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Learn all the standards of American Table Service
  • Check all key areas prior to function
  • Participate in pre-service meetings
  • Maintain excellent service throughout function
  • Stocks and restocks function with supplies
  • Scrapes dishes and separates silverware for dishwasher
  • Able to set and break down catering events to set standards
  • May need to assist in all areas of the food service operation
  • Check out services staff at end of function to make sure all duties are complete
  • Responsible for close of function room to set standards
  • Maintain professional quality service to the residents at all times
  • Work with supervisors/managers to accomplish goals of department
