Our Campus was one of the first to introduce the concept of continuing care and improve the quality of retirement living in North Central Phoenix.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Dining Room Supervisor to join our Dining Services team!

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Dining Services, this position is responsible for the overall service in the Buckwald's restaurant. Buckwald's will be operated within established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures. Assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the dining service department with the facility plan of operation. Utilizes the principles of Beatitudes Mission and Values Statements in the execution of the job description. Manages employees within the framework of Teamwork and Empowerment.

The Dining Room Supervisor Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducts frequent and unscheduled sanitation and safety inspections of all food service activity in the Buckwald's restaurant
  • Develops training requirements for the wait staff
  • Monitors each meal to assure meals start on time, and all items on the menu are offered
  • Trains employees using the Server Associate Training Series (SATS) Program
  • Orients, trains, and schedules all new Plaza View servers
  • Works directly with the production staff to assure all items are produced and displayed appropriately
  • Assures all items are held on buffet lines at the correct temperatures according to the HACCP policy
  • Completes daily opening and closing procedures
  • Works with Dining Services Management to assure all meal charges are accurate
  • Assists Management in annual evaluations for his/her employees
  • Assists Management in issuing new employee uniforms and ordering uniforms when necessary
  • Assists with other department supervisory needs
  • Works directly with residents and resident family members to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Acts as host/hostess during meals and special events
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned
  • Oversees the work flow of services during peak periods providing support and assistance to all staff
  • Monitors stock level of food, beverage and condiments and replenishes when necessary
  • Reports food service equipment repairs or failures immediately as observed
  • Schedules and monitors cleaning of food service equipment and appliances

Skills / Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Graduate or GED                                  
  • Minimum Experience: Three years experience in food service industry, preferably in an Assisted Living or Long Term Care facility
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Current valid Food Handler Card
  • Level of Supervision: Trains new employees. Leads one or more employees performing similar work. Allocates and monitors the work of others. Supervises employees who do not supervise others. Leads employees performing similar work on a project basis.
  • Management Experience Required: A minimum of two years supervisory experience
